David Husom is a documentary photographer who has exhibited throughout the US and in Japan. His photographs are in numerous collections including the J. Paul Getty Museum, George Eastman House, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Weisman Art Museum, Minnesota History Center, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Haggerty Museum of Art at Marquette University and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
He has been published in Aperture magazine and Architecture Minnesota, where his portfolio of fairground images won an award from the Society of Publication Designers. He has done visiting artist programs, lectures and workshops at a number of colleges including Middle Tennessee State University, University of Wisconsin in Green Bay, the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, the Winona School in Chicago, the Milwaukee College of Art & Design, and Wright State University OH.

He is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota where he teaches a class Digital Design Strategies for Small Business in the College of Continuing and Professional Studies. He previously was a full-time faculty member and taught classes in technology and media in the Master of Liberal Studies and Arts and Cultural Leadership programs and photography in the Art Department, School of Journalism, General College and at the University of Minnesota Summer Arts Study Center. From 2012 to 2014 he was an Office of Information Technology Fellow at the University of Minnesota.
In addition he taught at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the Winona School in Chicago. He has also done workshops and visiting artist lectures and residencies at major universities and art schools across the country.
